Minister Lukuvi appoints four more NLUPC Commissioners
Minister for Lands, Housing and Human Settlement Development, Hon. William Lukuvi (MB) has appointed four (4) Commissioners for the National Land Use Planning Commission (NLUPC) following the retirement of two (2) Commissioners in the current Board. Retired Commissioners are Dr. Nebbo J. Mwina (who was the Director in the Wildlife Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism) and Eng. Seth Phili Lusemwa, who was the Director General of the National Irrigation Commission.
The newly appointed Commissioners include Prof. Santos Silayo, Chief Executive Officer of Tanzania Forestry Services Agency (TFS) and Mariam Silim, Assistant Director of Monitoring and Evaluation in the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlement Development.
Other appointed Commissioners are Dr. Tito Mwinuka, an Executive Director of the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) and Dr. Malogo Kongola who is the Partnership Manager for WWF-CARE Alliance representing Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
CSOs in Tanzania have been instrumental in planning, implementation and management of land use plans in various parts in the Country. Appointment of these four additional Commissioners begun since 2nd of July, 2018.
